About the Work
Solitude has been with us since birth, quietly accompanying us throughout our lives. Human existence cannot be sustained without a sense of separation. Yet when we release the five senses and let our hearts drift freely into the cosmos, we become one with the void — Ku (空) — and solitude dissolves. As beings once parted from the divine, we live lives enriched by lessons drawn from both joy and sorrow. Perhaps our role is to return these memories to the heavens when we depart this world. The peace permitted to us in a single fleeting moment — the profound sense of unity among all living beings — that is the truth. Suffering is but an illusion born of human perception.
