About the Work

This artwork was created out of a desire to mourn for the hearts of people around the world. The grief experienced by the families of those who have lost their lives to infectious diseases is immeasurable. However, I believe that all of them have fulfilled their destined lifespans and have been welcomed into paradise. Those who have passed away are surely deeply concerned for their bereaved families.

What we should truly mourn is the hearts of those left behind; it is the suffering of those who must continue to live in this world that must find solace. Paradise is an eternal realm, while this world is impermanent—nothing here remains unchanged. God created this world so that human souls might learn what is truly important. Those who have fulfilled their destined lifespans are equally enveloped in God’s love and have returned to the great fountain of souls. Eternal peace is promised to all people in this world, and God exists eternally and unchangingly as the place to which you will one day return.
